Andre Iguodala has answered one of the biggest questions the Golden State Warriors had this offseason, announcing he’s returning to the team for one more season to run it back after winning the 2022 NBA championship.

Iggy is not the player who guarded LeBron James in the 2015 NBA Finals; he knows his time in the league is coming to an end but wants to give it a worthy close to his honored career. Following the 2022 Finals, many people doubted that Iguodala would return to the Warriors, but the veteran had different plans in mind.

While the team is still figuring out what to do with Draymond Green, Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins, they have received big news, Iguodala has announced he will have one last dance before retiring from the game.

During a recent and special edition of his Point Forward podcast, Iguodala announced he’s not calling it a career and will run it back one more time with the Dubs before finally retiring from the game.

“The special announcement is that I myself will be returning for my 19th season and ET [Evan Turner] and I will be returning throughout the season, on the road, to perform our Point Forward duties, our Point Forward responsibilities and to give you access to what’s going on in the NBA.”

He blamed Stephen Curry for this decision but made it clear this will be his last season and nothing will change that.

“I’m letting you know now, Steph, this the last one.”

This is great news for the Warriors. Iguodala has been a great player for them, and even though he has played fewer minutes with age, he’s a crucial piece of this team’s success.
