Andrew Wiggins truly unlocked his skill-set and catapulted himself into another level in the playoffs to ensure the Warriors get over the hump and be crowned champions. He was arguably their second-best player in the post-season behind Stephen Curry.

The former number 1 overall pick has had his struggles in the NBA but is living up to the hype in his role on the Warriors. He is no longer averaging 20 points over a season but is one of their best defensive players and an impactful offensive player.

Wiggins appeared on the ‘Point Forward’ podcast hosted by Andre Iguodala and Evan Turner, where Iguodala revealed how the Warriors pushed him to be a better rebounder and how Wiggins proved to everyone he is an elite rebounder from the Memphis Grizzlies series onwards.

“You gotta figure out different ways to get [the ball], so let me try and get my feet wet, go in there and rebound the ball,” Andrew Wiggins said of his playoff mindset. “And especially when we played small in the Memphis series and I had to rebound, I’m in there rebounding and I’m like, ‘This ain’t that hard! I can rebound!’ And from there I just kept with it. It helps us win, it gives us more possessions, and I’m like, ‘I can do this.’ I’ll never average four rebounds again.”

“I look back now like, ‘How?’ I wasn’t really thinking straight. I look back now, I don’t know how that was possible.”

Wiggins went from averaging 4.5 rebounds during the regular season to 7.5 in the playoffs. Had had 6 games with over 10 rebounds from the Grizzlies series onwards, proving that he had the ability to box in him, but he didn’t utilize it well enough.

He had his best rebounding games against Boston, tallying 29 rebounds in the span of 2 games.
