Anthony Davis has had his share of injuries over the course of his decade-long career in the NBA, and some of them have been serious enough to see him miss a massive chunk of games for the Los Angeles Lakers over the last few seasons.

Recently, a TNT graphic did the rounds on Reddit and showcased the center’s injury report timeline resembling a board game operation. Here’s a quick look at his injury timeline.

November 20, 2012, to December 8, 2012: Left ankle

December 2, 2013, to December 13, 2013: Left hand

April 9, 2014, to April 16, 2014: Back

February 23, 2015, to March 2, 2015: Right shoulder

March 20, 2016, to April 13, 2016: Left shoulder

January 21, 2019, to February 4, 2019: Left index finger

January 10, 2020, to January 18, 2020: Tailbone

February 26, 2021, to April 19, 2021: Left calf

December 19, 2021, to January 23, 2022: Left MCL

February 25, 2022, to March 31, 2022: Right foot

It’s not easy to endure as many injuries and still suit up, but Davis, to his credit, has weathered ample injuries — even this season but has been a consistent presence for the Lakers.

The ongoing season has seen him play 56 games, averaging 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.

With the big man turning up for both the playoff games despite being a regular in the team’s injury report, it remains to be seen if he can make a deep impact and take the Lakers the distance.

NBA Fans React To Anthony Davis’ Injury Graphic

Fans had their two cents to share on Anthony Davis’ injury history, and some of them understood the endurance and resilience the star had built over the years.

“By all accounts, he keeps himself in incredible shape, works hard, and does everything he is supposed to do to recover and come back as strong as possible,” a fan wrote.

This was seconded by another who said: “When he gains muscle mass, people criticize him for putting too much stress on his frame. When he slims down, people criticize him for being easier to push around and unable to withstand getting hit in the paint.”

“To me, it is more sad/unfortunate than it is anything that you can blame on AD,” a comment read. “Criticizing any guy for bad luck with injuries just seems weird,” another wrote.

It is unfair that Davis gets flak for injuries that are unforeseen and beyond his control. The current season has seen him gut through back and foot issues to play his part in the Lakers making the postseason. Perhaps, naysayers would make note of his performances rather than take shots at his injury history.
