The Los Angeles Lakers have finally done it. They have turned their season around after a 2-10 start to it.

The Purple and Gold most recently faced off against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and fans couldn’t have asked for a better performance from their team. Anthony Davis and co. registered a stunning 116-111 victory over OKC and improved their record to 37-37. As a result, the Purple and Gold are at .500 for the first time this season. Davis shared his thoughts on it in the postgame conference while also giving a message to his teammates.

“We knew it was a goal of ours to be .500. We haven’t been .500 since we’re 0-0,” Davis said. “We knew how big this game was not just to be .500 but also for the standings. This team beat us once, I think they’re ahead of us, so we made sure we come out with this victory. Every game is a must-win for us. Every game is a Game 7 of the finals. We know the position we’re in, we control our own destiny, but we gotta come in and play with a sense of urgency.”

Anthony Davis recorded 37 points, 15 rebounds, and 1 assist in the stunning victory over the Thunder. Following the win, the Lakers are now on a three-game winning streak and have caused some significant changes in the Western Conference standings.

The Los Angeles Lakers Are On The Verge Of Clinching A Place In The Playoffs

With a 37-37 record, Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers are currently the eighth seed in the conference. They are also tied with the seventh-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves.

As for the Lakers’ aspirations to book a permanent spot in the postseason, they are still a game and a half behind the sixth-seeded Golden State Warriors.

Fortunately for the Lakers, they still have eight games left to be played in the season. Keeping the form that they are in right now, it won’t be a surprise if fans see the Lakers climb a couple of more spots in the standings before the season is done and dusted.
