• Team USA won their final exhibition game ahead of the 2023 FIBA World Cup

• USA overturned a 16-point lead against Germany to remain undefeated over their five friendlies

• Anthony Edwards gave the winning credit to Tyrese Haliburton instead of taking it for himself

Team USA looked destined for their first loss in the run-up to the 2023 FIBA World Cup when they trailed Germany by 16 points, getting sauced by Dennis Schroder. However, Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton led the team in making a comeback and winning the game. Edwards praised Haliburton after Tyrese hit the game-winner three.

“I hope y’all listening. If he goes right, he’s side-stepping. I hope y’all listening, if he goes right, he’s side-stepping. That b*tch was green though. My boy went crazy today. My light skin partner.”

Edwards ended the game with 34 points, as the USA won 99-91. The Timberwolves star established himself as the No. 1 option of Team USA, even getting praised by LeBron James on Twitter.

Haliburton put up 16 points on efficient shooting off the bench. He hit a big three late in the game to complete the comeback, showing to the coaching staff that he may need to be a starter when the tournament begins.

Can Anyone Stop Team USA?

We have seen Team USA operate as the best team in the World so far in the World Cup, something that didn’t look like the case in 2019 when they crashed out of the tournament and finished in seventh place. Germany is hoping for a medal at the World Cup, so this win was impressive for Team USA.

The lineup has been consistent by Steve Kerr, as his starters are Jalen Brunson, Edwards, Mikal Bridges, Brandon Ingram, and Jaren Jackson Jr. Players like Haliburton and Austin Reaves will be the primary options off the bench, as Team USA has a very versatile roster.

Only one of the heavyweights, like Spain or France, could take the fight to Team USA. Slovenia will hope to do so as well, but Luka Doncic isn’t enough to overcome the juggernauts Team USA is in almost every international competition.
