  • Anthony Edwards scored 34 points for Team USA in their win against Germany
  • LeBron James complimented Anthony Edwards on social media for his fine performance
  • LeBron James referred to Anthony Edwards as ‘cold.’

Anthony Edwards has become the talk of the offseason as he goes from strength to strength for Team USA. In another exhibition match ahead of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, Anthony Edwards scored 34 points to lead his team to a win against Germany. And LeBron James has taken notice of his performance.

Using an ant emoji, LeBron James wrote on X, saying, “Ant-Man cooking!! That boy cold.” LeBron ended it with a freezing emoji to signify what he meant.

🐜 Man cooking!! That boy 🥶

While this isn’t the most detailed or nuanced praise, Anthony Edwards is certainly doing something right if LeBron James is talking about it on social media. Anthony Edwards made big plays and hit clutch shots in the 99-91 comeback win for his team. He scored 34 points too, continuing his explosive scoring summer.

Anthony Edwards is one of the youngest players on this inexperienced Team USA roster, but he is quickly separating himself from the pack. Legends like Kevin Garnett have already declared their belief in him and he seems to be collecting more fans as this goes on.

LeBron James Showed Anthony Edwards Love Despite Being Left Off Of His Top 5 All-Time List

As a 4-time champion and 4-time MVP, LeBron James’ legacy is solidified. So he’s not one to care too much about where people rank him. LeBron James has an objective case to be considered a Top 5 greatest player of all time. So it was wild that Edwards left him off his personal Top 5 when asked about it recently.

“MJ, Kobe, (Shaquille O’Neal). That’s three,” Edwards said. “Allen Iverson and I mean, of course, (Kevin Durant) for me.”

LeBron James is not petty enough to not give a deserving young star his flowers over something like this but it is funny that these two things happened so close together. Anthony Edwards looks set to continue impressing this summer, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see LeBron James tweet about him before the World Cup ends.
