Kobe Bryant is one of the most iconic players that the sport of basketball has ever had. There is no doubt that Kobe Bryant inspired many to not only play basketball but to work hard in their day-to-day lives with his Mamba Mentality. Generally, most people view Kobe Bryant as a top-5 player of all time, and his accolades make it hard for anyone to argue against his inclusion on that list.

Recently, Timberwolves guard Austin Rivers has claimed that there is “no comparison” in modern basketball to Kobe Bryant. He noted that while some players may have elements of Bryant’s game, nobody had Kobe Bryant’s “total arsenal”

Been watching Kobe highlights for fun, and there is really no comparison in todays game to who this guy was. Some players might have a couple things like him, footwork, midrange etc. but nowhere near his total arsenal. People forget how athletic he was. He was freakish athlete

Been watching Kobe highlights for fun, and there is really no comparison in today’s game to who this guy was. Some players might have a couple things like him, footwork, midrange etc. but nowhere near his total arsenal. People forget how athletic he was. He was a freakish athlete

There is no doubt that many NBA players have high amounts of respect for Kobe Bryant. Once, Tracy McGrady even claimed that Kobe Bryant is the most skilled player ever, even over Michael Jordan.

“Kobe Bean Bryant. He’s the greatest one-on-one player I’ve ever competed against, and not just because of his skill set. It’s because of his mentality. He was just a certified killer,” McGrady said. “I see MJ & Kobe, but Kobe enhanced those skill sets that he took from Michael Jordan. The ball-handling skills. The fadeaways. I think Kobe is the most skilled basketball player that I’ve ever seen over Michael Jordan.”

Obviously, Michael Jordan is the GOAT of basketball, and it’s hard to say that anyone was ever truly more skilled than him. However, Kobe Bryant was definitely one of the most skilled players that we have ever seen, especially in a one-on-one setting. There’s no doubt that he had answers for everything that a defender could throw on him, and Kobe Bryant was absolutely unstoppable when he caught fire. He won 5 championships with the Los Angeles Lakers, and it is easy to see why some people think he’s the greatest Los Angeles Lakers player ever.

There is no doubt that Kobe Bryant’s memory will live on. He touched the hearts of many around the league, and hopefully, his legacy will never be forgotten. The Los Angeles Lakers fans will definitely remember his time with the franchise, and the skill and finesse that he played with.
