LeBron James is one of the loudest advocates for racial equality in the modern NBA, constantly fighting to improve the condition of people oppressed due to their race.

With the end of February and Black History Month, LeBron made a powerful statement about how he and his family celebrate Black excellence all year long and don’t need the shortest month of the year to do so.

“Black History Month is every month, they just happen to give us the shortest month in the year. We celebrate Black excellence every single day of the year, 365 days a year going around my household and the people that I am around. I love the fact that we get to celebrate it for a full month. At the end of the day, I celebrate Black excellence every day is Black history day, 365 days in a year, 366 in a leap year. That’s just how we rock around here.”

No culture or race, especially one that’s gone through generations of oppression, should have its history reduced to a 28-day month. LeBron James recognizes that and is taking the sentiment of Black History Month and applying it to his everyday life and teaching his family to do the same as well.

LeBron James Injury Timeline

After a day of speculation, it was finally confirmed that LeBron James will be out for at least 2 weeks with his recent foot injury. The Lakers will be evaluating his return options based on the progress he makes and the position of the Lakers in the standings.

The Lakers lost their first game since LeBron’s injury tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Lakers need to win their upcoming games, as every loss ensures they will fail to make the playoffs. James being re-evaluated in 2 weeks means his return could be anytime from the Lakers’ game against the Houston Rockets on March 16th.
