Anthony Davis tried his best in the Lakers’ loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, having 28 points with 19 rebounds, and 5 blocks on the night.

It wasn’t enough, as the Lakers fell to a 109-121 loss at the hands of the Memphis Grizzlies. Even though LeBron James was ruled out of the game, Davis believes the Lakers should be winning these games.

He spoke candidly about the loss after the game, saying the Lakers have enough talent on their roster now to be winning games.

The Lakers are 3-0 with LeBron James in their new lineup and 1-2 without LeBron. Given James might be out for the foreseeable future, Davis needs to continue putting up big performances like the one tonight and hopefully, the Lakers can climb into a playoff spot.

Is This Roster Good Enough Without LeBron James?

The Lakers have multiple avenues to improving their roster even after the trade deadline. The team had atrocious point guard play in the loss to the Grizzlies, with Dennis Schroder struggling mightily. Adding a veteran like John Wall from the buyout market could be a temporary fix as LeBron and D’Angelo Russell heal up from their injuries.

Outside of that, the roster has more than enough talent and versatility. Not having a genuine point guard on the roster really hurt them today, with Schroder being played in a role he’s simply not good enough for. They have a back-to-back against the Oklahoma City Thunder tomorrow night, so they’ll hope to find some solutions. Not giving up 120 points with the defensive personnel that they have now might be a great first step.
