The Portland Trail Blazers are parting ways with Neil Olshey a month after they launched an investigation into the president/GM, who was accused of “workplace misconduct.”

Back in November, the team announced they were investigating the situation, which set the alarms within the organization. A couple of days later, Chris McGowan left the team amid the investigation, seemingly pointing out that things were wrongly done in Portland.

Now, the team announced they are relieving Olshey of his duties in a statement.

Following the conclusion of the independent review of concerns and complaints around our workplace environment at the practice facility, the Portland Trail Blazers organization has decided to terminate General Manager and President of Basketball Operations Neil Olshey, effective immediately due to violations of the Portland Trail Blazers’ Code of Conduct. Out of respect for those who candidly participated in that privileged investigation, we will not release or discuss it. We are confident that these changes will help build a more positive and respectful working environment. Joe Cronin has been promoted to interim General Manager while the organization’s leadership conducts a search for a permanent replacement.

This season hasn’t been sweet for the Blazers. They didn’t start the best way, with Damian Lillard struggling to find his touch. The organization went through some rough times with the investigation and now Lillard is injured.

They can’t catch a break, but the management is trying to change to culture. Ol is now jobless and the team is looking for a new president/general manager. It hasn’t been a good year for the Blazers, who rank 9th in the Western Conference, and need to find solutions as soon as possible.
