Brian Windhorst Says The Heat Could Create A Frontcourt With Giannis Antetokounmpo And Bam Adebayo Next Summer

The 2021 NBA free agency promises to be at least as interesting as what we saw in 2019 when a lot of moves changed the landscape of the league, finished the superteam era (for now), and gave us a very interesting season. Well, we could be seeing teams trying to gather the most talent possible trying to beat their rivals and the Miami Heat appears to be planning to sign two of the best frontcourt players in the league to boost their already great roster.

They just finished as runners-up this campaign, losing the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers in six games. They did a terrific job, surprising a lot of people on their way to the Finals, but some improvement needs to take place if they want to win their first NBA title since 2013. It will be odd not to see Pat Riley making a move this offseason, but some reports suggest the big move will come next year.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Heat could team up Bam Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo next year, trying to create a Big 3 with Jimmy Butler (possibly a Big 4 with Goran Dragic), but they need to be patient and play their cards properly. While talking on ESPN’s The Jump, Windhorst said the Heat might be a very interesting destination for Giannis.

“It’s interesting to point out that Bam and Giannis Antetokounmpo have the same agent. . . If neither of them sign extensions this offseason, watch out for the Miami Heat.”

This would be huge for the Heat. They are trying to save as much cap space as they can to pursue a superstar next season and if Giannis decides to leave the Milwaukee Bucks, South Beach could be his new place in the world. The Heat just beat him this past season, 4-1, and while they were playing, rumors surfaced suggesting Miami could go after Giannis either this season or the next one.

It looks like this is a growing possibility, especially if the team doesn’t bring him the right pieces to compete for the title this next season.
