Charles Barkley’s Savage Comeback At Kevin Durant After He Called Himself A God: “God Sitting At Home With A Play-In Banner.”

2 Min Read

Charles Barkley and Kevin Durant are well and truly going at one another following the latter’s sweep at the hands of the Boston Celtics. It all began when Barkley suggested that Kevin Durant was a ‘bus rider’ and not a driver during his championship runs with Golden State, basically implying that KD had won without being the main man on those teams.

Durant took exception to that, attacking Barkley on social media by sharing pictures of him with stellar teammates from his career, suggesting that Barkley himself had played on stacked teams. And after it was pointed out to him that Inside The NBA would probably roast him in return, Durant tweeted calling himself a God and acknowledging that it would be an army of producers trying to poke fun at him.

Well, if there’s one thing Charles Barkley is known for, it’s having a response ready when someone comes at him, and he did not disappoint, bringing up the fact that the biggest thing the Nets achieved this season was making it out of the play-in tournament.

“God sitting at home with a play-in banner.”

And the aforementioned army of producers at TNT did not disappoint either, coming up with a plethora of ways to make fun of Durant and taking the bus driver analogy as far as they could. This involved a scene from the hit TV show The Office, with several players’ faces superimposed on it, and getting an actual bus for Barkley to drive at the end of the show.

No matter how many times KD goes back at Chuck and the crew, it’s a battle he will likely lose, thanks to the creative genius of the show and Barkley’s quick wit. Considering that his team just got swept, perhaps it would be better for KD if he just focused on his offseason and then subsequently geared up for success next season, that would end up being the best comeback of them all.
