The Golden State Warriors are having an exciting summer, as they reshape their roster after their first loss in a Western Conference playoff series since 2014. Losing to the Lakers wasn’t ideal, and the team is doing its best to remain competitive.
After adding guard Chris Paul to the roster, the Warriors have seemed more guard reinforcements by signing former Pistons’ guard Cory Joseph to a one-year contract.
Free agent guard Cory Joseph has agreed on a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors, @KlutchSports CEO Rich Paul and agent Brandon Cavanaugh tell ESPN. Joseph averaged seven points and 3.5 assists for the Pistons a season ago.

Joseph was a bit-part player off the Pistons’ bench last season, averaging 6.9 points, 3.5 assists, and 1.7 rebounds in over 60 appearances. He provides some solid defensive tenacity and is a veteran that the Warriors can rely on if injuries end up causing Paul or Stephen Curry to miss time.
Not A Lot Of Returning Players In Golden State
The Warriors have been relatively quiet this summer, with their biggest move so far being the re-signing of Draymond Green. The trade for Chris Paul was important to add some depth and maturity, but the Warriors haven’t necessarily hit home runs on the market, as top free agents have already started signing with teams.
They have lost rotational players from last season, like Ty Jerome, who signed with the Cavaliers, and most importantly, Donte DiVincenzo, who signed with the Knicks. There is no clear replacement for DiVincenzo available on the market, so Golden State will either be exploring trades to fill out their bench or hope rookie Brandin Podziemski can step in and be an instant contributor.
The team still needs frontcourt additions. They are currently rumored to be interested in veteran Dario Saric, or just bringing JaMychal Green back.
