Damian Lillard put up a big show on Sunday night, dropping 71 points on the young Houston Rockets.

One month after recording his fourth 60-point game in his NBA career, Dame added another one, registering more 60-piece than plenty of NBA superstars and legends.

LeBron James – 1

Stephen Curry 1 –

Shaquille O’Neal – 1

Larry Bird – 1

Kevin Durant – 0 (55)

Tim Duncan – 0 (53)

Magic Johnson – 0 (46)

Bill Russell – 0 (37)

LeBron James’ career-high 61 points happened in 2014, as the Miami Heat beat the Charlotte Hornets. His second-highest single-game scoring was 57, which happened three years later against the Washington Wizards.

Stephen Curry went off on the Portland Trail Blazers in 2021, dropping 62 on Damian Lillard’s team. Just like LeBron, Curry’s second-best performance in a single game is 57 points.

Shaquille O’Neal iconically dropped 61 on the Los Angeles Clippers during his 28th birthday, going off on the Clips after he took it personally against Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

As for Larry Bird, he demolished the Atlanta Hawks in 1985, scoring 60 points in 43 minutes in a Boston Celtics win over the Hawks.

As for the rest of the legends, they couldn’t make more than 55 points in a single game, and that record belongs to Kevin Durant, who is still playing and could join the 60-point club at any moment.

Damian Lillard Joined Wilt Chamberlain And Kobe Bryant In An Elite Club

Meanwhile, Lillard is celebrating his big game, with fans showering him with praise. This game was Dame’s 5th 60-point in his career, and he joined Wilt Chamberlain and Kobe Bryant as the only three players to have 5 or more of these games.

He still wants to compete and lead the Portland Trail Blazers to fight for important things, and these performances confirm that he can be the leader of a championship team, but the front office must surround him with the right talent.

Lillard recently shut down the idea that the Blazers should tank to get Victor Wembanyama, and he’s making sure that doesn’t happen, even if that means he needs to go for 70 points.
