D’Angelo Russell On The Timberwolves: “I Think We Can Beat Any Team. I’ll Take Our 5 Against Any 5.”

The Minnesota Timberwolves may be under .500, but they have all the confidence in the world that they can compete with anyone in the West.

Following their impressive 40+ point win over the Grizzlies on Saturday, star point guard D’Angelo Russell made it a point to share just how special he believes his team is:

“Russell: ‘I think we can beat any team. I’ll take our 5 against any 5. I’ll take our bench against any bench. I’ll take our coach over any coach.’”

The Timberwolves have won three straight putting them just two games within .500. It’s a positive sign for the ball club in what has otherwise been a rough season.

In fact, several players let their frustrations show earlier in the year:

“We’re on a three-game slide right now in the NBA,” said KAT earlier this month. “If I know one thing about slides here in Minnesota, it could go from three to 18 to 19, 20 really quick.

Even though they got hot, we have to make them not be hot. It’s up to us as a team and it’s up to us as a unit to get it done, especially the starting unit.”

After many years of mismanagement and subpar play, the Timberwolves were delighted to have Towns and Russell together and healthy this season.

So far, there have been some growing pains as the young guys and new roster understand how to play with each other.

But, for now, all we can do is watch and wait to see if this team can prove they belong with the elites.

They have the talent and they have the leadership, but it’s up to them to show the results.

We’ll see soon enough what kind of team the Wolves are and if D’Lo’s words have any hint of truth in them.
