LeBron James was unstoppable in Game 4 of the first-round series vs. the Memphis Grizzlies. The King recorded 22 points, 20 rebounds, and 7 assists in a crucial win.

Following the sensational victory, the Lakers now have a comfortable 3-1 lead over the Grizzlies. After the game, Lakers point guard D’Angelo Russell reacted to James’ first 20-point, 20-rebound game of his NBA career.

Since joining the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this season, D’Angelo Russell has always spoken highly of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Many doubted if he would fit well alongside the dynamic duo, D’Lo has allowed his performances to speak for himself. Speaking of which, Russell finished Game 4 with 17 points, 1 rebound, and 3 assists. Russell caught fire from deep in the fourth quarter when he knocked down three back-to-back three-pointers to help the team make a comeback.

It was a complete team effort from the Los Angeles Lakers. Anthony Davis recorded 13 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 4 blocks. Austin Reaves had 23 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 steal to his name.

Defensive juggernaut Jarred Vanderbilt contributed 15 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 3 blocks to the 117-111 win for the Lakers.

LeBron James Sealed The Game In Overtime

Winning Game 4 took the Los Angeles Lakers’ entire roster to contribute in one way or another. But when things mattered the most, LeBron James stepped up.

He made several clutch plays to not only keep the Lakers in the game but also win it for them. During the postgame conference, James talked about his dagger layup over Dillon Brooks that essentially iced the game for the Purple and Gold.

“You know how momentum plays are made, and you’ve been a part of moments where you know that you can kind of get like a dagger play or kill-shot,” James said. “After that, I was able to make that and-one kind of once they closed the door, but I needed to seal it a little bit. It wasn’t much light at the end for the rest of the game. So, just letting the emotion come out and the fans was once again top-notch for a second consecutive night.”

The Lakers fans couldn’t have asked for a better start to the team’s 2023 NBA playoffs. But the team still needs to close out the series, hopefully in Memphis on Wednesday.

Can LeBron James have another magical night on the court and lead the Lakers to the Western Conference Semifinals? We will find out very soon.
