The Los Angeles Lakers have a pivotal season coming up, big things are expected from the team as they look to bounce back after a disappointing campaign. The Lakers roster last season wasn’t exactly what might have been desired, a lot of their former players find themselves without a team even now. But their success depends on how their stars perform, so the key will ultimately be in Russell Westbrook’s form and Anthony Davis’ health.

The Lakers stars struggled last season, only LeBron James performed at a high level, and it wasn’t enough to lead them to any semblance of success. One of the issues was the team being unable to integrate Russell Westbrook, who had one of the worst seasons of his excellent career. However, with the new Head Coach, Darvin Ham, committed to making it work with Russ, the hope is that this will change during the 2022-23 season.

Darvin Ham Reveals The Lakers Have Plays Designed Around Their Big Three

Ham is a first-time Head Coach in the NBA, but he has been involved with a very successful team before this, the Milwaukee Bucks. So he knows what it takes for a team to win a championship in the modern NBA. And with their 3 superstars, the Lakers have a chance at being successful if it clicks. And Ham and his staff already have plans to make that happen.

“We have a three-man package, actually a playcall, that they’re going to thrive in and it involves all three of them. I look forward to that being at a very, very high level.”

The Lakers are looking to have Russell Westbrook in the starting five alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis this season, and having some set plays that run through all three could prove to be very effective. Westbrook and LeBron both like having the ball in their hands, so if the distribution and spacing around them can be sorted out, the Lakers could make some excellent and devastating team plays.

It will be extremely important for the team to get off to a good start to set the tone for the remainder of the season. If they can engage their stars and get the role players to fill in the gaps around them, it could prove to be a recipe for success. The season starts in a few weeks, and all eyes will be on the Lakers to see whether they can get back to winning ways this season.
