Dwight Howard is yet to find a franchise ahead of the upcoming season, but that hasn’t deterred the eight-time All-Star as he looks to stay in peak physical condition.
The 36-year-old last played for the Los Angeles Lakers. After three stints with the team — the third where he landed a veteran’s minimum contract and averaged 6.2 pts and 5.9 rebounds playing 60 games, he is now an unsigned free agent.
Taking to Instagram, Howard posted a clip of him in good spirits and doing some cardio. He captioned the post:
It’s okay because I BELIEVE in me #trusttheprocess #motivation.
In the clip, he added another phrase that said:
“When You’re In The Best Shape Of Your Life But Still A Free Agent.”
Over the years, Howard has suited up for the Houston Rockets, the Atlanta Hawks, the Charlotte Hornets, the Washington Wizards, and the Philadelphia 76ers.
Will Dwight Howard Switch From NBA To WWE?
Earlier, Howard expressed interest in switching sports, and if the offer was right, he wouldn’t mind a WWE stint. He had shown that he was capable of stepping into the ring after crashing a WWE tryout in Nashville.
Per a TMZ report, Howard’s appearance was not a one-off. He said he’d take an offer if it was better than what basketball had to give him.
“Whatever opportunity is best.”
In the meantime, WWE CCO Paul Levesque (better known as Triple H) was inclined to give Howard a shot. The outlet added that he was impressed by what he saw.
“The ball’s in his court. He came by our tryouts in Nashville, and was incredibly entertaining, jumping in promos by himself and then with others — incredibly entertaining. So, when he says, ‘Hey, I want to give this a shot,’ he’s got my phone number. All he’s got to do is call me, and we’ll see what can happen.”
Will Howard be seen next in a fighting ring? Or does he still have a franchise that will lock him in ahead of the new season? Only time will tell. What we do know is that he’s ready for both.
