Dejounte Murray has reached an incredible milestone in his young career. After Draymond Green was unable to take part in the upcoming 2022 NBA All-Star Game, the San Antonio Spurs standout was selected to replace the Golden State Warriors big man.
This is a dream come true for Murray, who made this a personal goal several years ago. Now that he made it to the big game, Dejounte looked at his past and reflected on all the things he went through to reach this point.
After he was selected to play in the big game, the player brought up an old tweet when he expressed his desire to become an All-Star.

He took the chance to take a look at his NBA career and how he went from being overlooked due to his past to being part of one of the most exclusive teams in the league every season.

Murray’s story is really tough. His parents weren’t present while he grew up; he was surrounded by gang violence and was arrested a couple of times. Yet, that didn’t stop him from pursuing his dream. Even though he was ignored by some teams given his background, the Spurs gave him a chance to become a solid NBA player.
Now, he’s an All-Star and has a bright future ahead. The Spurs found a terrific player in Murray; he’s considered the future of the franchise and seeing how well he’s performing this season, San Antonio could be relevant again with Murray as their leader.
