Derek Fisher On The Lakers: “When Their Defense Is Engaged, They’re Really Hard To Stop.”

1 Min Read

Coming off their first Championship victory since the Kobe era, the Los Angeles Lakers certainly have a lot to be proud about. Of course, among them is the defensive identity they’ve been able to build these past two years.

With Anthony Davis and LeBron James setting the tone on that end of the floor, they’ve been the best in the league in that area, and people haven’t failed to take notice.

Former Lakers guard Derek Fisher recently made an appearance on Spectrum Sports Net, where he talked about his old team and the state of their defensive abilities.

“When the Lakers’ defense is engaged, they’re really hard to stop.”

The Lakers were among the NBA’s highest-ranked defenses last season, and it looks like that trend will carry over into this current campaign as well.

The question is, will it bring similar results? As LeBron continues to age, and the West grows in competition, the path to winning has only gotten harder for L.A. It’ll be interesting to see how they finish.
