Warriors star Draymond Green was suspended by the NBA for his actions in an altercation with Domantas Sabonis, who may or may not have initiated the contact. Whether right or wrong, Green was forced to sit and watch as his team fought in a must-win playoff game.
Fortunately for the Warriors, they came out with the win, and Green will be able to return for Game 4. But now that the dust has settled, Dray finally shared his own thoughts on the ruling and ripped the NBA for how they handled the play.
“I never knew you could be suspended for a flagrant two that happened seven years ago. I also didn’t know you could get suspended for interacting with a crowd that’s flipping you double birds and yelling your name in chants that you suck and you interact with them. I didn’t know that either.”
The important thing for Green is that his team found a way to win, even though it hurt not being out there to help in their time of need.
“My guys played well. My guys played really well, and stepped up to the challenge and it was absolutely incredible to see… My fellas were in a dog fight, and not being able to participate, that’s crushing. Because you feel like you’re leaving them out there by themselves.”

Draymond has been a huge part of the Wariror’s success over the years, even despite his repeated mistakes. But after this incident, and the Jordan Poole altercation last summer, one has to wonder how much longer Green’s tenure with the Dubs will last.
Is This Draymond’s Last Run With The Warriors?
The Warriors might be best suited not paying Green the money he likely desires, which means he could end up leaving to join a different team in the offseason. For now, it’s still an unlikely outcome, but it could become a reality if the Warriors collapse early in these playoffs.
“Unless they [the Warriors] get to the Finals or win the Finals, he [Draymond Green] is gone,” reported Chris Broussard. “And you can make a strong argument that even if they won the championship if he opted out, they can decide to move on. We’ve seen that happen before. Draymond has to really look at whether or not he should opt out, because remember he has control of it. He doesn’t have to opt out.”
Only time will tell how this plays out for Draymond, but he should be thankful the Warriors were able to survive his suspension. If they are able to win Game 4, the series will be tied up heading back to Sacramento.
