Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors can call themselves a dynasty in recent times. They have won 4 championships since 2018, which makes them the most successful team in the last decade. And all this success has been built around their Big 3 of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.
Many fans over the years have suggested that while these superstars are all excellent at what they do, both Klay Thompson and Draymond Green benefit from the system. Stephen Curry is a game-changing superstar, one of the best to ever play, and the greatest shooter ever, so that cannot be said about him. However, it’s equally stupid to say that about the other two, and at least for Draymond, he is aware of just how good he is.
Draymond Green Would Pick Himself, Stephen Curry, And Klay Thompson Over Any Other Big 3 In History
Draymond Green is as confident as they come, and his personality means that the confidence gets projected quite loudly as well. The Warriors star is often one to debate anyone about his team’s greatness, and he articulates his opinions well. And although many might not agree with him on this one, he suggested that the Warriors’ Big 3 would be his choice over other legendary team cores, like Kobe and Shaq, the Showtime Lakers, or the Miami Heatles.

“When I look at other Big 3s, I don’t necessarily look at them and say, ‘Oh man, they have this on us or they have that on us.’ It’s almost impossible to compare. If you look at the Lakers, everyone is gonna say Shaq and Kobe right? But Derek Fisher was so important to those teams and they couldn’t win without Derek Fisher.
“Magic, Kareem, and James Worthy, I’m sorry. I’m probably going to pick Magic, Kareem, and James. You look at D-Wade, Bron, and Bosh. I wouldn’t necessarily pick them over us, but Bosh is 6’11, LeBron is 6’9, DWade is 6’4.
“But when you get down to it, I ain’t picking nobody over us three. None of those guys faced the same challenges we faced. Steph was too slow and his handles weren’t good enough, and Klay couldn’t dribble good enough, and I was just way too fat and too slow, and didn’t have a position… and that’s why I’m picking us.”
Perhaps the best way of looking at it is that while a lot of those players individually were better than players in the Warriors‘ Big 3, what they achieved as a unit is just as impressive as any of the other teams in NBA history. This is a controversial opinion from Draymond but one that drives conversation.
