Young point guard D’Angelo Russell is the future of the Minnesota Timberwolves and a guy who has proven himself as a valuable asset in the NBA.

But D’Lo does have a bit of a dark history in this league, a history that continues to follow him today.

Back during his tenure with the Lakers, he was the center of an infamous scandal involving himself and Nick “Swaggy P” Young. During a mini “prank” war the two were engaging in at the time, Russell exposed Young for cheating on his fiance, leading to the pair eventually splitting up.

While Young did face some backlash for cheating, it was D’Lo who got the worst of it, with the masses flaming him for “snitching” on his teammate.

The whole thing eventually led to Russell’s departure from the Lakers, and his reputation has yet to fully recover.

Most recently, D’Lo’s past surfaced once again after Dwayne Bacon posted this message on Instagram:

It was a clear-cut shot at Russ, but it was Russ who would get the last laugh in the end. After that post, he would drop 27 points on Bacon’s head in a blowout win.

The slander got so bad for Bacon, he went private on Instagram.

Looks like Bacon had to do a bit of backtracking after that whole ordeal, but good on Russell for letting his play do the talking.
