Big names always tend to be in attendance at Madison Square Garden for New York Knicks games, especially if some NBA superstars are in town. That certainly was the case on Tuesday night, as the Knicks welcomed the Los Angeles Lakers.

The fans were treated to a tightly-contested back-and-forth contest that went to overtime, with LeBron James and the Lakers ultimately coming out on top. There was a moment early on in the second quarter, however, that raised some eyebrows, as cameras caught Russell Westbrook seemingly arguing with Knicks fan Gary Vee. As the video went viral, Vee addressed the issue, stating that Westbrook was talking to someone else and that it was just a friendly conversation.

“Here’s what actually happened. Nema gave Russ a wonderful compliment for that backdoor play. Russ just was asking for clarification. It’s all love out here. Go Knicks!”

Westbrook has had his share of heated exchanges with fans over the years but this wasn’t one of them. Russ had a fine showing at MSG too, finishing with 17 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals off the bench.

Russell Westbrook’s Future With The Lakers Is Still Up In The Air

Westbrook recently hit another milestone, as he entered the top 10 all-time for assists in NBA history. He is going to go down as one of the greats and has had a remarkable turnaround as a Laker, but that doesn’t assure he is going to stay there for too long.

The Lakers have concerns over his viability in the playoffs and they would know that if he doesn’t get to play when the postseason comes around, then he might cause some problems. They might look to trade him so as to not deal with that potential headache and with Westbrook’s stock having definitely risen as compared to the start of the season, they might be able to get some solid rotational pieces in return.
