Fans Roast Paul George Once Again On Instagram, Compare His First Season In LA To Anthony Davis’ First Season In LA

2 Min Read

6x All-Star Paul George is obviously one of the best wing players in basketball. Solid on both ends of the floor, PG certainly brings a lot to the table.

But for all his talent, George has yet to find much team success. In Indiana, the Pacers couldn’t get past the Eastern Conference Finals, getting smash again and again by LeBron James and the Heat. In OKC, he failed to lead the Thunder to good standing in the playoffs, getting sent home in the first round in back-to-back seasons.

His move to the Clippers was supposed to change all of that. Instead, it ended up being more of the same, as George’s inconsistent play resulted, at least in part, in their early exit.

Whether fairly or not, fans have been flaming the dude ever since — with the most recent criticisms coming after the Clippers star was seen posing with a photo showing off his new PS5. Fans compared that moment (the end of his first season in LA) to that of Lakers big man Anthony Davis, who also just finished his first season in LA.

Unlike George, Davis and his squad finished with the ultimate prize: an NBA Championship. Seemingly beating all the odds, and proving the doubters wrong, Davis was huge in helping the Lakers secure their 17th Championship.

Until PG13 is able to achieve that level of success in the NBA, his resume will continue to be flawed and he will remain the target of ridicule by fans.

Next season, the 30-year-old swingman hopes his team is able to turn things around and prove — once and for all — that they really can be a place that wins at the highest level. Who knows, maybe it will be George who will be holding that Larry O’Brien trophy next June.
