NBA Rumors: Sixers Interested In Chris Paul

2 Min Read

Following an impressive season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, 35-year-old Chris Paul is facing an uncertain future. Things will be moving fast in the next few weeks, and Paul has emerged as a target by many teams in the association.

Most notably, several Eastern Conference teams are reported to have an interest in CP3, including the Sixers and Knicks.

“There are some East teams that are interested [in Paul],” said ESPN’s Brian Windhorst. “I think New York has interest. Philadelphia has interest. I believe there’s been some cursory conversation between Philadelphia and Oklahoma City, but I don’t get the impression there’s any traction there.”

Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid make up a star duo for the 76ers. Since 2017, they have worked together to maintain an elite status in the East.

Unfortunately, all the talent has yet to translate into meaningful wins. In the three seasons that Embiid and Simmons have played together, they never reached the Conference Finals and, just this past campaign, got swept in the first round.

With Chris Paul, the Sixers get a proven leader, ball handler, and playmaker. In his latest stint, he averaged 17.6 points, 6.7 assists, and 5 rebounds per game on 48.9% shooting.

So far, Paul has expressed a desire to return to the Clippers or a team close to his home in Los Angeles, but might he consider closing out his career in Philly? We’ll see soon enough how it all plays out in the end.
