Former Player Recalls The Time He Fired Back At Michael Jordan’s Trash Talk: “Look MJ, You Had My Poster Up In Your Room In College, So Whatever I Was Doing Back Then, I Was Doing Right!”

Michael Jordan was known not only for his game and all the impressive things he could do on the court but also for his capacity of getting under his rivals’ skins and make them feel bad during a game. MJ mastered that art and he’ll always be known as one of the best trash talkers in the game.

Not everybody could clap back at the Chicago Bulls legend but there was one time where MJ was humbled when tried to bully somebody. It happened during the shoot of Space Jam, where Jordan made Warner Bros build a gym for him to train and play some pickup games with other NBA stars. Once, MJ had Milwaukee Bucks legend Marques Johnson as a guest and Jordan tried to trash talk him, but Johnson wasn’t having any of that.

Johnson recalled on Twitter that he visited Jordan at the set of the movie and they had a very interesting conversation.

“When he was shooting the movie Space Jam out in Los Angeles, I was doing something on the court. Dunked it a couple of times… And he was like, ‘Come on, old man. You don’t need to be trying to dunk, you know weren’t a dunker when you played, don’t be trying to dunk now.’ And I was like, ‘Look MJ, you had my poster up in your room in college, so whatever I was doing back then, I was doing right!’ …He was like, ‘Yeah, you got me on that. You got me on that. I sure did and had your poster up. I used to love your game back then.’”

That was a great comeback without any hesitation. MJ was probably used to be trashing people without any consequences but Johnson was different and he made His Airness pay.
