The Miami Heat are heading back to the NBA Finals after a dominant win in Game 7 on the road over the Boston Celtics. Standing between them and a fourth NBA championship is the top seed in the West, the Denver Nuggets.

The Nuggets are the heavy favorites to come away with the title, but Gabe Vincent had a bit of a warning for them after Game 7.

“Everyone doubted us but here we are,” Vincent said when asked why the Nuggets should be afraid of the Heat.

The Heat have been doubted throughout these playoffs, but they have kept proving everyone wrong time and time again. They dispatched the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks in five games in the first round when no one had given them a shot to win that series. Then in the lead-up to the Eastern Conference Finals, ESPN gave the Heat just a 3% chance to get past the Celtics and they once again got the job done. Can they shock the Nuggets as well on the biggest stage? You wouldn’t put it past them at this point, but it will be very difficult.

Gabe Vincent Has Shone In These Playoffs

Vincent has played a significant role in the Heat’s success and despite dealing with some ankle issues, he played very well against the Celtics. In the six games that he played, he averaged 15.8 PPG, 2.2 RPG, and 2.2 APG while shooting 48.5% from the field and 51.6% from beyond the arc.

This good play has come at the best possible time for Vincent, as he will be a free agent in the summer. He looks set for a good payday and the Los Angeles Lakers have been touted as a potential landing spot for him. The Heat would ideally want him to stay and you’d assume Vincent would want that, too, as he is a great fit with their culture. For now, though, that contract talk will be the last thing on the mind for both he and the Heat as they have their eyes on the title.
