Giannis Antetokounmpo Could Have The Greatest Individual Season Of All Time If He Wins The Title This Year

Giannis Antetokounmpo could be in line to have the best individual season in NBA history, as long as he wins the NBA title this season. The Greek Freak was named the 2020 NBA Defensive Player of the Year in recent hours and there are big chances that this isn’t the only individual award he’ll receive this season.

Before the NBA entered hiatus, Giannis was the frontrunner to win the NBA MVP award and one would imagine that hasn’t changed.

Some could say LeBron should win the MVP, but that is not the case for a lot of people. If Giannis gets his second MVP award this year, he’d only need the title to record the greatest individual season of all time. One Redditor that goes by the name ‘loneranger017’ shared all the accolades Giannis has collected this year, his impressive stats and the reasons why this should be a reality if he wins the ‘ship in the bubble.

He averaged 30/14/6/1/1 in 30 MPG. Per 36 minutes, that’s 35/16/7/1/1 on 61% TS.

Advanced stats: 31.9 PER, 11.5 BPM, 6.6 VORP, 11.1 WS.

Accolades:

MVP

DPOY

NBA Champion

FMVP

All-Star Captain/Starter

1st team All-NBA

1st team All-Defense

His team was on pace for 70 wins for a good part of the season despite him being the only superstar on his squad. He’s one of the best players in the league on both ends of the floor.

They’re the #1 seed in the East and arguably the best team in the league.

Antetokounmpo is playing great basketball right now. Despite a surprising loss in Game 1 of the first round against the Orlando Magic, he has turned things around and now the Bucks look like that team that dominated the East before the shutdown.

He has a very good opportunity to win the title this season with Giannis showing the path. He is young but Giannis could cement his legacy this year if he completes all these feats.
