With the NBA Finals right around the corner, players from both teams are expected to fulfill a lot of press commitments. Speaking to the media before and after the games is a big expectation placed on NBA players during the Finals.

But one reporter who always seems to lighten the mood is Guillermo Rodriguez, the comedic correspondent from Jimmy Kimmel Live. And he had a hilarious question for Gary Payton II during his press interaction.

Gary Payton II was doing his press interaction ahead of tomorrow’s Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics.

Guillermo went up to Gary Payton II and asked him whether he liked Latinx women. Payton II hilariously responded that he doesn’t discriminate, and then burst out laughing at the hilarious nature of the question.

Gary Payton II: “This is the guy that I’ve been wanting to see! How you doing man?”

Guillermo: “I’m good. Let me ask you. Is it fun to wear shorts to work?”

Gary Payton II: Absolutely! Do you wear shorts to work?”

Guillermo: “They would fire me if I wore shorts… Are you into Latinas?”

Gary Payton II: “I don’t discriminate.”

Payton was clearly anticipating seeing Guillermo at the press interaction, and he was not disappointed with how the interaction went. While he tried to keep a straight face, for the most part, even GP II couldn’t keep it together after talking to Guillermo for a short while.

Guillermo has a reputation for asking silly and hilarious questions to NBA players during these press interactions, which has made him something of a fan favorite among NBA fans.

His reputation is so strong, that even LeBron James knew who he was. And last year, James finally acknowledged Guillermo and explained how difficult it had been to ignore Guillermo over the last few years.
