The second-round matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Memphis Grizzlies featured a duel between two of the best point guards today in Stephen Curry and Ja Morant. While Ja Morant got injured after Game 3, there’s no doubt that the first three games of the series provided some spectacular basketball, which featured the two point guards going head-to-head.

After the Memphis Grizzlies lost to the Golden State Warriors, Ja Morant sent a message to Stephen Curry via Twitter, claiming that the Warriors point guard is his favorite matchup, while adding that he’s “looking forward” to facing Stephen Curry again.

fav matchup… looking forward to more battles 30..

Stephen Curry is one of the most accomplished players in the league, and it’s clear that Ja Morant respects him. There is no doubt that the Grizzlies and the Warriors respect one another. Stephen Curry has recently stated that the Grizzlies made the Warriors better, and added that the Grizzlies have a lot of potential “in terms of winning at the highest level”:

I have a lot of respect for every single guy on that team in terms of how they’re built as a group, individual talent. They have a lot of energy, a lot of potential in terms of winning at the highest level. They were the higher seed for a reason, they had an amazing regular season and dominated over the course of the 82 games… There’s definitely respect, there’s definitely an understanding that they made us better, I’m sure we’ve made them better. Who knows what happens down the road, but they’ll be here for a long time just because they have a lot going on for them. Definitely respect.

It would definitely be great for fans to see another series between these two franchises. Both Stephen Curry and Ja Morant are electric basketball players, and this series was definitely entertaining.

The goal for the Memphis Grizzlies will be to improve as a unit in the offseason. It will be interesting to see what their players do to get better, and there’s no doubt that they could make yet another jump as a squad next season.
