  • Jalen Brunson forgot his wallet after Team USA’s exhibition game win against Puerto Rico
  • Tyrese Haliburton and Brandon Ingram used the money to buy snacks from a vending machine
  • Brunson signed a four-year $104 million deal with the Knicks in 2022

Team USA recently locked horns with Puerto Rico in an exhibition game ahead of the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Behind phenomenal performances by Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, and Austin Reaves, they recorded a blowout 117-74 win.

Jalen Brunson, who’s also part of Team USA, apparently forgot his wallet in the locker room after the game. Instead of simply returning the wallet, Tyrese Haliburton and Brandon Ingram decided to treat themselves at a vending machine.

“JB, JB left his wallet, and we hit him,” Haliburton said. “BI what did you get in the vending machine?”

As apparent in the video, Haliburton brought himself Funyuns chips while Ingram purchased Ruffles chips and a cinnamon roll. Considering Brunson signed a four-year $104 million contract with the New York Knicks in 2022, it would certainly not put a dent in his net worth.

But the hilarious part is that Haliburton and Ingram also have huge deals. Haliburton made headlines for signing a mega five-year $205 contract extension, which could be worth up to $260 million with the Pacers. On the other hand, Ingram signed a five-year $158 million contract extension with the Pelicans in 2020.

Jalen Brunson Helped The Knicks Advance To The 2023 Playoffs

Jalen Brunson helped the New York Knicks finish with a 47-35 record in the 2022-23 season. The Knicks made it to the Eastern Conference Semifinals for the first time since the 2013 playoffs.

However, they were eliminated in six games by the Miami Heat. As for the 26-year-old, he averaged 24.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game last season. Although Brunson was happy that the Knicks made the playoffs, he knows the team needs to be better.

Next season, fans will have even bigger expectations from Brunson and the Knicks. But for now, the former Dallas Mavericks player is focusing on playing for Team USA.
