Jamal Murray has had his fair share of doubters who questioned whether he’d ever be able to replicate his heroics from his time in the Bubble, especially after his ACL tear in 2021.

Well, Murray has done a fine job of silencing them this season, and following a dominant showing in Game 1 against the Phoenix Suns, he had a message for his doubters.

“I say it’s healthy Murray,” Murray said when asked if it’s Bubble Murray or healthy Murray. “I don’t how many times I gotta prove myself for y’all to believe in my game or believe in what I do or my health or whatever it is. I can only just keep doing it and keep training and prove everybody wrong. We’re going to keep improving, try to get this Game 2 on Monday (and) prove the doubters wrong, that’s it.”

Murray took it to the Suns, scoring a game-high 34 points on 13-24 shooting from the field and he went 6-10 from beyond the arc. He also had 5 rebounds, 9 assists, and 2 steals to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 125-107 rout of the Suns.

Murray is now averaging 28.3 PPG, 6.8 APG, 5.5 RPG, and 1.2 SPG in these playoffs while shooting 48.4% from the field and 46.2% from beyond the arc. Any and all questions on whether the Canadian can get the job done have been answered in spectacular fashion.

Nikola Jokic Believes Jamal Murray Is Playing Better Now Than In The Bubble

Murray struggled to start the season following his recovery from that ACL tear but he kept improving as time went by. He has certainly elevated his game now in the postseason and following his 40-point outing in Game 2 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Nikola Jokic claimed Murray was playing better now than in the Bubble.

His averages in this postseason are indeed higher than they were in the Bubble, where he put up 26.5 PPG, 6.6 APG, 4.8 RPG, and 0.9 SPG. Murray is showing that his performances back then were no fluke and that he has what it takes to be a star in the NBA.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
