Jimmy Butler was in familiar territory this past weekend.

With 2020 All-Star festivities in Chicago this year, Butler got to return to the place where his basketball career started. And while he is clearly enjoying the laurels of his move to Miami, he didn’t exactly rule out a potential return to the Bulls.

After being asked about if he would ever want to play for his former team again, he didn’t mince any words about his feelings.

“Yeah, of course,’’ Butler said when asked if he would ever want to come back and play for the Bulls. “Like, come on. This is Chicago. This is home for me for a long time, still is home for me now. It’s a definite possibility — maybe toward the end of my career. Who knows? We’ll find out when that time gets here.’’

Jimmy Butler was a budding star in Chicago from 2011 to 2017. Following the departure of Derrick Rose, he was the one Bulls fans looked to as the face of the franchise.

Eventually, Butler got tired of the toxic mentality of the organization — and demanded a trade out.

But it’s clear that he will always have an attachment to the city and the team he called home for so many years. Don’t be surprised to one day see him return.
