The 2022-23 season certainly didn’t go according to plan for John Wall. The five-time All-Star had signed with the Los Angeles Clippers in free agency and while there was a lot of buzz around his acquisition, his time with the team ended up being rather short.

The Clippers traded him in February to the Houston Rockets and they waived him days later. Wall now remains unsigned in free agency and is set to hold a private workout with multiple teams on Sunday in Las Vegas.

“Five-time NBA All-Star guard John Wall is holding a private workout for multiple teams Sunday in Las Vegas, league sources tell NBA on TNT, Bleacher Report.”

In 34 games for the Clippers last season, Wall averaged 11.4 PPG, 2.7 RPG, 5.2 APG, 0.8 SPG, and 0.4 BPG. He can still be a solid backup point guard in the NBA and would be hoping to impress teams during this workout, to get another shot in the league.

He was garnering some interest from South East Melbourne Phoenix, a team in Australia, but it doesn’t seem like Wall is interested in going overseas just yet. He might be left with little choice in the matter, however, if no team is interested in him even after this workout.

Potential Landing Spots For John Wall

When you look at potential landing spots for Wall, the Boston Celtics might be one of the teams in the equation. They traded away Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies last month and with Malcolm Brogdon dealing with injury issues, Wall could be a solid backup for Derrick White.

If James Harden does get traded, then the Philadelphia 76ers could be an option as well, as Patrick Beverley would then be the only other point guard on the roster. The Phoenix Suns could be in the mix as well, as Cameron Payne is the only real point guard on their roster at the moment.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
