Karl Malone had been out of sight and out of mind for quite a long time before the NBA decided to get him involved during the All-Star festivities in Utah. On the surface, it was a great idea to have the Jazz legend around, but it has led to details about Malone’s dark past resurfacing, something the Hall of Famer definitely didn’t want.

Bomani Jones was the first to speak out about it, as he mentioned how Malone had impregnated a 13-year-old girl and he blasted the NBA for including him in the big event. More details that had seemingly been forgotten are now coming out and Malone gets painted in a worse light with each passing day.

Malone’s son with that girl goes by the name Demetress Bell and he would end up playing in the NFL for 5 seasons. Demetress never had his father around during his childhood as Malone wanted nothing to do with him and their first meeting would take place when Bell was 17 years old. Malone though made it clear that he had no interest in having a father-son relationship, as it was too late for that.

via ESPN:

“According to Bell, Malone told him it was too late for him to be his father, and he’d have to make it on his own.”

Malone would later realize that he was in the wrong in this situation and in 2014, the two reunited and are now on good terms. Still, he ignored Bell for 30 years and this story resurfacing hasn’t done his reputation any favors. Malone responded to all the backlash by saying he doesn’t care about it and won’t discuss about the topic.

Karl Malone Harrased Vanessa Bryant When He Was Teammates With Kobe Bryant

All that was mentioned earlier was bad enough, but another story came out as well, which detailed how Malone harassed Vanessa Bryant when he was on the Los Angeles Lakers. Malone made numerous advances at Vanessa, which really amounted to harassment and it is a real shame that she had to go through something like that.

It should be no surprise then that Malone and Kobe Bryant did not get along, with Bryant holding a grudge over it for a long time. You certainly can’t blame Kobe for that, but Malone never felt that he crossed the line with his comments toward Vanessa.
