The Golden State Warriors are having a great 2021/22 NBA season. After two campaigns struggling to get things going, the Dubs finally recovered their best version, becoming a threat for the rest of the league now.

Their Big 3 of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green is healthy again, leading the Dubs to the playoffs for the first time since 2019. Moreover, they found young pieces that enhanced their level.

Jordan Poole has been the newest gem the Warriors have found, and the guard is exceeding expectations, even outplaying Curry and Klay during his first playoffs games. The team has high expectations for him, and some people think he must have a bigger role on the court next season in case the Dubs fail to win it all this campaign.

According to Kendrick Perkins of ESPN, the Warriors should split up their Big 3 and replace Klay with Poole, as he’s the future of the franchise.

“Hell, yeah! Yes, they should. If I’m the Golden State Warriors and I’m looking at a young star on the rise in Jordan Poole and I’m looking at Klay Thompson,” Green stated. “This is no knock on Klay Thompson. But at some point, you’re gonna have to let Jordan Poole be the best he can be right now. But at some point, you’ve got to move forward and start to build. … At some point, every good thing have to come to an end.”

Perkins is right when he talks about things coming to an inevitable end, but it seems too early to say that the Warriors need to make such a drastic decision with a player that gave them so much joy and that only returned to the court this campaign. Poole is great and he can continue what Curry, Thompson and Green started, but this situation could have a different development.

Still, we need to wait and see if the team can win it all this campaign, or if the front office will go that route and blow it up.
