Following the blockbuster trade between the Dallas Mavericks and the Brooklyn Nets, Kyrie Irving joined forces with Luka Doncic in Dallas. The new dynamic duo has already started to gel together in the few games they have played together.

But there is a general concern around the future of the duo. An NBA executive believes Luka Doncic may end up leaving the Mavericks at the end of the season.

However, former NBA player and current analyst Kenny Smith recently talked about how Luka Doncic will enjoy playing with Kyrie Irving. The reason? Well, Smith believes it is because Irving has previously shared the court with LeBron James during their stint together with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“I think it’s easier for Kyrie because he played with LeBron. No one is more ball dominant at times than LeBron James, and this guy was able to flourish and win championships with him, so that’s not going to change for him. I think it will be a pleasant surprise for Luka to realize at the end of the game, ‘you know what? I don’t have to ice tonight, and I don’t feel as tired tonight’ he’s going to have some different momentum that he’s never had before.”

James and Irving played together for three seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers. During those three years, the duo reached three consecutive NBA Finals and ended up winning the 2016 NBA Championship.

The Mavericks fans will certainly hope that Kyrie has a similar partnership with Doncic and can help in bringing at least one NBA title to Dallas.

Can Kyrie Irving And Luka Doncic Win An NBA Title Together?

Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic have just become teammates. Their journey together has started, and in the ideal situation, fans would hope for them to lead the Mavericks to a title as soon as possible.

The Mavericks currently have a 31-29 record and are in the sixth spot in the Western Conference. They easily have enough games to further improve the synergy between Kyrie and Luka.

If the duo gets in great tuning ahead of the NBA playoffs, it will be hard to stop the Mavericks on their path to winning the NBA Championship.
