Kevin Durant On The Craziest Dunk He’s Ever Seen: “I Think He Plays In OKC. I Threw Him A Lob One Game, And He Was Over Top Of The Backboard.”

2 Min Read

Back in 2018, Kevin Durant’s relationship with Russell Westbrook was still broken. The two stars had shared eight years with the Oklahoma City Thunder until Durant made the controversial decision of joining the Golden State Warriors in the summer of 2016. That move changed everything between the two stars, who were spotted talking to each other during the 2018 All-Star weekend since they both were part of Team LeBron.

It was during that weekend that KD was asked what was the craziest dunk he’s seen in his life. His response was quite surprising but still great, as he named one of the most famous players in OKC history.

“I mean I’ve seen some 6-3 — this 6-3 guy I used to play with a couple years ago, his athleticism was off the charts,” Durant said. “I used to see him do normal dunks every day, and now when I see dunks it’s not as good as his.

“He’s an athletic guy. I think he plays in OKC. I threw him a lob one game, and he was over top of the backboard. After that one, nobody else can compare.”

He didn’t mention Westbrook’s name but it’s pretty clear who he was talking about. Even though they were in different teams, no longer as the best friends they used to be, KD knew that dunk was something else and he paid his due respect.

Now both players are in different team and we’ll have to wait until next season to see Houston Westbrook facing Brooklyn Durant on the court.
