Kevin Garnett Says The Nets Should Trade For Zach LaVine And Bradley Beal

The Brooklyn Nets made a huge splash last summer when they signed both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. They went from a borderline playoff team to a Championship contender, even though KD wasn’t going to be able to play this season.

Fast-forward to this year and the Nets’ season was a major disappointment. Kyrie couldn’t stay healthy, the team fired Kenny Atkinson, and they failed to live up to the expectations.

Now, with Steve Nash set to debut as a coach and Durant back at full strength, the team is reportedly set to pursue the third start to fight for an NBA Championship, and, according to Kevin Garnett, they should turn their attention to Zach LaVine or Bradley Beal:

“I hate to say this, but I would [make a trade]. First off, to be able to get any of those talents, when you have the opportunity to, you have to. Caris LeVert is a really, really good up-and-coming player. He has value. You can leverage that and get you a Zach LaVine who can score with the best of em… Bradley Beal the same. Those pieces there are intricate to the availability — I don’t know how long Bradley Beal is going to be there to be available for Brooklyn,” Garnett told Kristian Winfield of The New York Daily News.

The Nets surely have enough assets to pull off a trade for either of those players but whether they’ll be available is a huge question mark.

The Bulls are looking for a new coach and Zach LaVine is believed to be the cornerstone of their project, while the Wizards have been reluctant to move Beal in the wake of John Wall’s recovery. Then again, anything can happen in the NBA.
