As the Phoenix Suns continue their bid to become world Champions, Devin Booker is putting the world on notice.

At just 24-years-old, Book has already become one of the best scorers in basketball and is proving to be a winner on the basketball court.

But for as much praise as Book is earning nowadays, Kobe Bean Bryant saw it coming years ago, when he played against the young Suns guard during his final season.

Here’s what he said after the game:

“I think he’s fantastic. I think he has the right attitude. He has the right competitive spirit. I think his footwork’s extremely sound, his fundamentals are extremely sound. And, now, it’s just about him figuring out exactly what his game is and then he can go to that every single night. But the skills are there.”

At that point, Booker was just a 19-year-old rookie on one of the worst teams in the NBA. Still, Kobe saw his game and knew right away that he was going to be special.

All these years later, and Booker is now proving Bryant right by leading his team to a 1-0 start in the Western Conference Finals.

No doubt, it’s just the beginning of what will be a long and successful career.
