If there were to be a poll among NBA fans about who the most controversial player in the NBA is currently, the overwhelming majority of people would likely choose Kyrie Irving. The star point guard has been involved in a major contract saga with the Brooklyn Nets during recent weeks, but it seems to have all settled down now, following him picking up his player option for next season on Monday

While Irving can be hard to understand and many may not agree with a lot of his decisions, he has often shared the idea of community living and helping other people when he has spoken out. He shared a video on Twitter on Tuesday that emphasized this once again, and while it was quite spiritual, it was also a little vague.

“Vlogging it. Touring it. Becoming more enlightened and really just sitting still and experiencing life out here. North Dakota. Indian Hills. We’re also in White Shield. And in this space out here for me is something I’ve needed since I was a kid. This is a great moment in my spiritual path. Be present enough to understand that it’s not me doing all this.

“At this point, I’m being pushed in certain directions and it’s just making my heart pour out more love. Without showering each other with love and being there for one another, I mean, going above and beyond for people in any capacity. I mean one family a day, one person a day.

“You can’t be afraid to make mistakes, in private or out in the open, but mistakes that you do make, gotta learn from them. Struggle is part of the journey, but suppressing your voice and suppressing your feelings is not.

Irving spoke after the BET awards about how he would address things when the time was right, and for now, he just seems to be content with whatever he is doing. His work off the field has never been in question, and while his message is a lovely one, basketball fans will need to see a lot more of him on the court next season.
