LeBron James has been dominating the NBA over the last 20 years. But it’s a sad truth that James will one day no longer play in the league.

It has always been a question of when, but fans certainly didn’t expect LeBron to drop a hint about his retirement after the 2022-23 NBA season. Speaking of which, NBA analyst Arash Markazi thinks James will not retire from the NBA until 2025. He explained the reasons behind his theory in a recent tweet.

“LeBron isn’t leaving without a retirement tour. His goal was to play in the NBA with Bronny, who is playing one mile down the street next year and will be one and done. L.A. will host 2025 NBA All-Star, which will be a LeBron retirement party. NBA Vegas ownership in 2026.”

All the points made by Markazi make perfect sense. James is arguably the second-best player of all time, and for many, he’s the best ever. So, there is little to no chance that he retires without getting a proper retirement tour.

James has always been vocal about playing with Bronny James in the NBA. However, it was recently reported that LeBron may be ready to give up on that dream.

Speaking of the 2025 NBA All-Star game, it is yet to be confirmed if Los Angeles will host it. But L.A. is the favorite to, as of now. Lastly, in 2022, James made it clear that he plans to own the Las Vegas team if there is an expansion.

Keeping everything in mind, it would be shocking if LeBron James retires following the Lakers getting swept in the postseason.

Can The Los Angeles Lakers Convince LeBron James To Stay?

LeBron James is in the twilight years of his NBA career. With each passing season, the King is getting one step closer to retiring from the league.

So, if the Lakers want to make sure that James spends the final years of his career with them, they need to have a sure-shot plan to help him compete for an NBA Championship.

Our writer, Eddie Bitar, recently wrote a piece on three master plans for the Los Angeles Lakers for the upcoming offseason. If the Purple and Gold can manage to execute either of them, it may convince James to continue playing in the NBA.

As of now, the Lakers are giving James some space and will have a conversation about his future in the NBA when the time’s right. Be it in a Lakers jersey or not, NBA fans certainly want to see the 38-year-old continue playing in the league.
