LaMelo Ball Tries To Recruit Kevin Durant To Hornets, KD Likes Tweet Of Hornets Coach Praising Him

3 Min Read

In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past 24 hours or so, Kevin Durant requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets after playing only two seasons with them since signing in 2019. Many developments might have caused this situation, but the general consensus around the league is that Kyrie Irving’s antics prompted Durant to end his tenure in Brooklyn.

Even before the news saw the light, several teams around the league were getting ready to lure Durant away from Barclays Center, including the Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers. Now, more teams have joined this list, namely the Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics, and the Phoenix Suns, believed to be KD’s preferred destination.

Everybody is trying to shoot their shot with KD, and recently one of the best young players in the league tried to make his pitch to convince Durant to join a dark horse. LaMelo Ball used the Damian Lillard trick and posted a picture with Durant on Instagram, trying to recruit him to his Charlotte Hornets.

In recent hours, the Hornets have been making little moves to try to catch Durant’s attention. To add more fuel to this, besides LaMelo’s pic, new Hornets head coach Steve Clifford had some kind words to say about KD.

“Kevin was a breath of fresh air. He may be the best player in the world and nobody works harder. Nobody cares more about his teammates.”

Even though this happened before KD requested his trade from the Nets, many people believe it was an attempt to land Durant by Clifford. To make things more interesting, Kevin liked this tweet, and now Hornets Nation wants to see how far these strategies can go.

It’s unlikely to see Durant joining the Hornets knowing his preferred destinations and the type of return the Nets want for him. If somehow Charlotte could get the 2x NBA champion, they would have a deadly duo with him and LaMelo.
