Larsa Pippen has come in Scottie Pippen’s defense after the first two episodes of ‘The Last Dance’ saw the light on Sunday night. Scottie was the main focus of the second episode of the night thanks to his incredible contract with the Chicago Bulls at the beginning of the 90s.
The power forward signed a 7-year, $18 million deal with Chicago in 1991, which later would create trouble for him and deteriorate his relationship with the organization. During the last year of the contract, in the 1997/98 season, Pippen was the 122nd highest-paid player in the league, a huge difference when you see that the year the deal was signed, he ranked 8th on that list.
The NBA community was shocked to see this, blaming Jerry Krause for the Bulls breakup and feeling sorry for Scottie.

Yet, it looks like the power forward had the last laugh, at least for his ex-wife, Larsa Pippen, who revealed Scottie did just fine after he left the Bulls.

Pippen did a great job winning over $100 million for a guy that made $18 million over seven years, the best in his career. After he finished his tenure with Chicago, the Houston Rockets signed Scottie to a five-year, $67.2 million contract. He then was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers due to his issues with Charles Barkley. He spent the next four years in Portland before returning to Chicago, where he finished his career.
Scottie earned $10 million with the Bulls playing only 23 games with them, something unthinkable for him when he penned that 7-year deal in 1991.
