Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest on the University of Southern California campus on Monday

Bronny is 18 years old and is expected to be a first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft

The James Family may have received some positive news about Bronny’s recovery, according to TMZ

The worst fear of a parent is losing a child, a fear that Savannah and LeBron James had to come to grips with after their 18-year-old son, Bronny James, suffered a cardiac arrest while training with the USC Trojans.

TMZ has shared an optimistic update on Bronny’s health, revealing that Bronny is out of danger and that doctors are focused on finding the cause of the arrest. Bronny’s limited time in the ICU has allowed LeBron and Savannah to feel some relief in this incredibly challenging situation.

“We’re told Bronny is doing much better … well enough that his parents are calmer. Not to say, of course, they’re not anxious to know what caused Bronny’s heart to stop, but they seem to have gotten enough reassurance from his doctors to tamp down the fear. One word used to describe them — ‘optimistic.’  One sign that must have reassured LeBron and Savannah — Bronny was only in ICU for a short time.”

LeBron ad Savannah haven’t communicated with the media outside the press release that informed the world of their son’s health predicament. Bryce James shared a picture with his brother on Instagram as a sign of support as Bronny looks ahead at a long road to recovery.

LeBron James Dealing With The Hardest Battle He’s Faced In 20 Years

Basketball is important and the lifeblood of athletes in the league, but dealing with the crisis of your son in the hospital after a cardiac arrest is a bigger battle than any NBA Finals. James was supposed to get a summer to get into the zone and lead the Lakers to a deep run in 2023-24, but he will likely spend more time praying for his son’s safety.

Bronny was expected to be a first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, with those plans possibly adversely affected after the cardiac arrest. There’s no timetable on what Bronny’s recovery may look like and there’s no obvious cause that people can point their finger at. With more time passing, more information should come out about the 18-year-old’s status. We pray that the news remains positive from here on out.
