Entering the 2021 NBA season, the Phoenix Suns were not at all favored to come out of the West, not with squads like the Lakers, Clippers, Nuggets, and Jazz competing in the same conference.

But now, months later, it is the Suns who stand in the NBA Finals, up 1-0 over a talented Bucks team.

Following the 118-105 victory, NBA Twitter was ablaze with reactions, including from fellow players.

The Suns have been the Cinderella team of the NBA playoffs. After years of subpar play and pure dysfunction, the franchise brought in Chris Paul to build a culture and help lead their young guys to success.

And now, that same guy is on his way to earning his first-ever Championship.

They’ve been underdogs and they’ve been afterthoughts but, even through injuries and several other obstacles, they have persevered and survived to stand just 3 wins away from the Larry O’Brien.

It has been a fascinating story that has countless fans throughout the community feeling hyped up and invested in these Finals.

Still — the job is not yet finished, and it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
