LeBron James couldn’t deliver in Game 5 of the Lakers-Suns first-round series. The purple and gold lost by 30 points, with the King seemingly giving up on his team early in the game. The King looked disappointed and demoralized after the Suns took a big lead in the 2nd quarter of the game

Still, Bron sent a big message to his teammates and fans, insisting that Game 6 is crucial for the Lakers’ title hopes.

During his post-game press conference, the 4x NBA champion kept it real, saying the Suns swept the Lakers off the court in Game 5 (1:26).

“We got our ass kicked — it’s that simple,” he said.

The challenge is enormous for the Lakers after going 3-2 down in the series. LeBron made it clear is do or die for them.

“We’ve got to be better if we want to force a game seven,” James said. “A lot to cover and see what we can do better in game six, but they pretty much just kicked our ass, there’s nothing else really to say.”

Still, the King is confident that playing in front of their fans will give them a boost. The Lakers took Game 3 of the series at Staples Center and will try to repeat the formula this Thursday.

“It’s literally win or go home at this point,” James said. “You shoot all the bullets you got and throw the gun too.

“I’m looking forward to the environment. Obviously the Laker faithful will give us a lot of energy. I look forward to the moment and the challenge, and see what brings out the best of me.”

They have some work to do ahead of this game. Even if Anthony Davis doesn’t play, they need to bring their A-Game to beat the inspired Suns. LeBron claimed he’ll give his everything on the court, but the Lakers can’t only rely on him to win this match.
