The struggles of the Lakers have become the NBA’s biggest talking point at the moment, and it’s clear to see why.

As the defending champs, with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Lakers were expected to pick up right where they left off in 20202.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t quite been the case, as they’re currently in a three-way tie for the 7th seed in the West.

Now facing the prospect of having to compete in the play-in tournament, LeBron let his frustration show, giving some harsh words to the inventor of the league’s newest tradition:

“Whoever came up with that sh*t needs to be fired.”

It’s clear that James isn’t a huge fan of the tournament, and you can’t really blame him.

Despite the interest it draws for fans, it takes a toll on the players, who have to fight and claw their way through a mini tournament just to secure their spot in the playoffs.

For a 36-year-old in his 18th season, that’s not necessarily something you want to do.

And for the Lakers, it could spell disaster for their chances to make a deep playoff run.

Nevertheless, we’ll have to see where the Lakers land by season’s end, and if they’re able to overcome the many obstacles that seem to be blocking their path.
