The iconic Dream Team in 1992 was so good they got inducted into the Hall Of Fame as a separate entry. After a disappointing result for the United States, they assembled the greatest team the world had ever seen and completely dominated in Barcelona at the Olympics. The team had players like Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, alongside most of the greats from the 80s and 90s, but the main draw was Michael Jordan.

There are many legendary stories from the Dream Team’s run in 1992. Michael Jordan forcing Chuck Daly to play a golf rematch just so he could beat him is one of them. And it seems the team was playing a lot of ping pong as well. There was a story told about Christian Laettner and Michael Jordan squaring off against one another at ping pong multiple times. And an iconic picture from that time, including MJ and Larry Bird, has resurfaced once more.

There are so many questions about what exactly is happening here. Michael Jordan is playing ping pong, but was he winning? And why is Larry Bird on the floor surrounded by children’s toys as he pounds some beers? There is some serious need for context, and I think all of us would like to know the story behind this picture. Perhaps, the legendary Ahmad Rashad can enlighten us. But whatever the story, it’s safe to say that NBA fans love that picture.

NBA Fans Had A Lot To Say About The Epic Picture Of Michael Jordan And Larry Bird

There isn’t a single fan of the NBA that doesn’t love seeing images like this involving some of the game’s greatest names. And fans had a lot to say in the comments in reply to this picture.

“Two legends just working through a rigorous Pre-Game Warm Up.”

“What is even going on here?”

“Man, what I wouldn’t give to be in that room.”

“I need to watch them play 1 on 1 with that little ball and hoop just 1 time.”

“MJ probably had $15k on that game of ping pong.”

“I aim to be as chill as Larry is in this pic.”

“All this needs is Magic in the picture flashing his smile and it would be perfect.”

“Lmfao someone do this now a days they gonna have to put out a statement about alcohol abuse.”

“That was just the best era, man.”

“The Dream team days were special.”

There was a bit of a passing of the torch during the Dream Team as Michael Jordan took over from the old guard of Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. With a lot of time passing since this, though, pictures like this are what fans have left to remember that amazing time when the best of the best played with one another.
